When starting to learn how to crochet, it can seem really confusing to see crochet patterns written, with a whole range of abbreviations in a list that just seem like gibberish.

The table below covers a few of these abbreviations you may see, how it may differ depending on where the pattern was written, and an outline of what the term means.

I will create a separate table for crochet stitches and their abbreviations, as well as some detailed 'How To's' for each technique with photographs, so keep an eye out for those too!
